  • I have survived hey heyyyyyyyy (sorry had to be done)

Ok so as you can imagine the first week was very stressful but I now can locate EVERY class and have not even been late once! got close once or I thought then as i rushed in and sat down I was informed by the teeny-bopper behind me I had 10 more minutes. Sheesh!
I am the oldest in some of my classes. I am about the same age as a couple instructors. My classes have been good so far. My goodness I didn't realize how much I had forgotten math wise, it is coming back fairly quickly though. I have passed my first test but it was a can you tell me how to reach me outside of class kind of quiz. I have an actual math quiz that involves math monday. I know I can pass it (i have studied enough) but I find myself making stupid errors.
I aced my first paper for my college readiness class got the highest grade in the class. TAKE THAT TEENY BOPPERS lol.
I am enjoying myself but yes I have to say the balance between Nina and school can be trying. Hubby is awesome he has been totally supportive and redirects nina when he can. He is usually successful but she still sneaks by. I moved my homework desk into the front room which makes it harder for her to sneak up on me. Next week we learn about integers in math. Never have learned those guess its never to late. Nothing worse then your 11 yr old kid saying "geez mom your math is sooo easy" I think i popped back with "im gonna show you easy if you don't let me finish" she laughed (prob cuz she knew i was full of it) and left me alone.
BUT so far I have not missed a single day. Friday was a go to math if you needed help but skip if you don't. I didn't need the help so I didn't go but it did not count against me. I was going to go but then I took the in book test and only missed 3 but was able to identify exactly what i had done wrong. I just need to check my answers before i declare myself done. We do not take our math tests in class so I have to stay after and go to the math lab for all tests and some quizzes.

THANK YOU ALLL for the words of support.

I CAN AND AM DOING THIS!

The nursing program has asked me to do a show and tell on my trach, I think I am gonna do it. I need to put myself out there so people can know me for me and not as "that chick with that thing in her neck".
would much rather be known as "that chick with the shrinking ass" but that too will come in time. I force myself to park as far away as I can from my classes. I also do NOT allow myself to take elevators. All I have to do now is get myself back in the habit of having breakfast at home and having a SMALL snack at school and I should be dropping the weight again. I had lost nearly 40 lbs since Nov. But I think i am back up 5lbs.

Rudy is missing me terribly hubby said. But he is adjusting.
    last but definitely NOT least.

    HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!

    I LOVE YOU SO MUCH!

I AM GLAD YOU LIKED YOUR BIRTHDAY SURPRISE!!!!!

HIS SURPRISE WAS HE GOT TO SPEND TIME WITH HIS SON, SOMETHING WE DON'T GET, I HAD TO BEG BUT I WANTED TO SURPRISE HIM SO IT WAS WORTH THE PAIN OF BEGGING LOL.

  • Sam, from the moment I met you (that sad day in clinic at the end of May last year) from the moment you opened up your life to me and allowed me to view your xanga journal, and chat with you on yahoo about your family to me while I was inpatient with Skyler, I knew you were a friend for  life. A friend I should have met 7 years earlier. But it is what it is. You are so amazing, I cant even begin to tell you from my point of view. Your motherly techniques for a  pre teen daughter are to die for...cause I would not survive. Your people skills are A+ also! (As much as I wanted to talk to you that day, if you hadnt jumped in, we probably would have only exchanged smiles) . And your friend ship skills rock. I know people from 15 years back that care to know the half of my family and self that you know. But most of all a gal to hold so true to her goal like you to become a nurse, I admire that! i would LOVE to be a nurse but honestly can not get passed a shot. (I once gave a shot to a sheep and paralized his back end...whoops)
The only thing I hate...is the distance between us! If only it was 30 min and not 300 miles. You rock. Your daughter rocks (even on her bad days) and your hubby rocks!
I am so proud of you.
    Much love!!
    Casie and family

  • I can't tell you how tickled I am, not only that you had the courage to go back to school and stick with it, but that you are enjoying it!

  • hey, Sam I'm glad I met you & your great family. You are so easy to talk to & I can't resist a funny person, but you much more than funny. You are smart & strong.. its seems you have gone through a lot & are stronger for it. We have a lot in common.. keep up with my blog.. too bad we are so far away. Considering our hubby's are like brothers & we get along.. :)
