  • To Blog or Not to blog.....

I would like to say that I have been extremely busy and unable to get to my computer. However that my friends would be a big fat lie. I forget regularly to turn on my messengers, update my twitter, check up with my Myspace... the list goes on. There have actually been days I have just not bothered to turn on my cell phone. All of these of course make communication with the outside world near impossible. Hell I have even forgotten to update my Facebook... I know this because my sweet often hilariously funny friend Tessy reminded me that I was still waking up one day..for 2 solid weeks!
It isn't that I don't want to communicate. I don't think anyway, I just have not had the urges I guess. I do find myself missing my friends I just usually realize this at about 3AM while I am waiting for my tweaker neighbor to pass out so I can pretend to sleep for the 2 or 3 hours until she and her boyfriend/room mates start fighting again or screaming at her infant to shut the fuck up so she can sleep *don't worry I am calling CPS on Monday* and thats normally when she is being nice. I typically won't get involved unless I feel like a kid is in danger. There is a lot of slamming and throwing of things over there at all hours. Also they screaming at the baby has gotten worse and worse. I would not be able to live with myself if I didn't at least report the things I hear. Someone has to advocate for the 2 small kids over there. They little ones used to play outside all the time and now you rarely see them. They seem more withdrawn (they used to live at grammas house this is moms first place). It is not normal for a 2 yr old to jump when momma says thier name. That to me is a sign of fear. I hope like hell I am wrong but if I do nothing and we are right I feel I would be just as guilty. So Monday we make a call. I feel it is my duty as a mother, neighbor and well human being.. no child deserves to be abused verbally and or otherwise.

ANYWAY I am gonna go grab dinner and come back and finish this!
OK now I am back. That was one good dinner. My hubby is a very good cook. So now i am stuffed.

I don't have much to really report. I am still working on starting college in January. Sometimes I think people are trying to talk me out of it by telling me its very hard and lots of homework. Not like I am afraid of hard work or studying. I guess it will be my time to prove people wrong. Which i thoroughly enjoy doing by the way, wouldn't be the first time. I will be buying a laptop with my student AID money. I am not sure which one to get. My desktop works fine but I want to be able to do most of my assignments from school and there is comfort in using your own system. I will also be able to email myself back ups so that I can have them on both comps. Also I have always wanted a laptop. I don't do a lot of downloading. I play mostly apps on Facebook and smallworlds or pogo for games. I also blog here. If i do download it is usually from Real Arcade or Pogo. I also don't wanna spend more then about $700 if I can get away with it. Any ideas???? I want the biggest bang for my buck I can get. hehe.

So we got Nina into Sylvan Learning Center on scholarship to hopefully help her catch up in school. She qualified for 30 hours of free tutoring. Which will be 4 hours a week. Hopefully it helps. She is doing ok but does definately struggle. I am shocked to report that with her being in 5th grade that they have completely removed Spelling from the curriculum. This annoys me to no end!!! They "did away with it to save time". My response was of course then why teach math? When we have perfectly good calculators. Of course that was looked at as "get real" thing. I wonder why they decided its ok for our youth to be stupid spellers? I hope none of our kids have to right any bills into our constitution some day. They probabaly won't be able to spell it anyway.
I work with her on spelling as much as I can but she is completely not interested. Whats even funnier is that they refuse to teach spelling (cuz its so hard to assign 20 words a week and then test on them) but yet they try to mark her down for it. I challenge it everytime. I have been fighting this spelling debate since 2nd grade! They did give me a list is 3rd grade that they said all kids should "just know" how to spell.
Anyway I guess thats about it for now must get back to my apps before i head to bed.
    Hope you all are well!

  • Overstating the Obvious!

I was gonna use bullets for this but I am using a new browser and frankly I am to damn tired to care how to figure it out or switch browsers. SO below are things in which if you had walked a mile in my shoes today would be overstating the obvious!

    1. Nina can't wait for her birthday this weekend. She will be 11 (WTF? Where was I?)
2.I am something way beyond tired but not sure if there is a word for it.
    3. Hubby and Nina are both sick. We are talking swine flu sick.
    4. Love him or not hubby is wimpy sicko.
    5. The doctor has canceled her bday party/sleepover. Nina is well PISSED!
    6. Casie is an amazing friend! My life has been much better since I met her.
    7. Rudy is just a little energetic and I worry to much.
    8. Tamiflu is overpriced and over-rated. ($100 for 10 pills that is WHERE it could be found)
9.I do NOT want what they have.. but fear i am destined to get it anyway.
    10. This blog is both to long and making little sense.
    11. I am a nervous furmama.

So folks this is what you get when you overstate the obvious.

PS: Rudy tootie got his second shots!!!! (go me) According to his shot record he needs a 3rd and a 4th??? but as far as I know the coronavirus (sp?) is not required in the 4th dose but IS in the 4th dose will this hurt him? I would think not but not sure either.. see #11 above

  • A little to Cutie here's......Mr. Rudy Tootie!

I love him soooo much he just took me for a very VERY painful walk! The best thing is that I got into it. I was in pain and knew quiting was unfair to him so I start trying my best to keep up with him~ not that he was slow but I was (hate my hips)~ t...hen I saw our mail lady and somethin in my head told me i would never catch up with her(she walks fast) but something in me came awake and not only did I catch up with her I also BEAT HER to my house!!!!!!!!!! I have Rudy to thank for that. I love my doggy! Btw her is still cute as ever. He is also VERY animated. He never potties on the floor unless one of us can't get to him fast enough, tiny bladder ya know. Until he came along I ached for my Buddy. When I found out he was still alive I couldn't even look at another puppy for a few days (of his type/breed) without wondering if it was him. I wasn't sad anymore but angry. Then I looked what felt like forever for little Mr. Rudy to cutie.. He has brought back happiness into my life. Increased my smiles. So without further ado the cutest look I've seen make finally with cell phone in hand LOL.

    cutie rudy

He got his new harness today. Not to sure about it yet.

Also bought his second set of vacinnes today.

They are due no later than the 20th.

An experieced friend is doing it for us.

  • GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD MORNING XANGA TOWNNNNNNNNN

    Hello Friends!
I hope this finds you all happy and well. We are doing ok here. Rudy Tootie *fresh~n~Fruity* is settling in nicely. Minimal accidents inside. Most of the time if he pottys in the house at all then he pottys on a blue pad (I get them for free everymonth due a bladder problem that flares up from time to time. I get 4 a month and are VERY useful for potty training him. (I have extra if anyone is interested. I just ask that you pay S&H) They are the washable kind (like in the hospital). I use the older ones with him in case i need the new ones for nina or I. I also used them under the bunny cage when we had an indoor bunny.
Not much going on I have yet to hear from the ppl in control of my college career yet. I am assuming I will soon. Nina has been falling asleep in class so we have changed her med time to 6pm and also moved her antidepressant to the evenings. She says sometimes it makes her sleepy. I got a call from school yesterday and of course the first thing they assume is that I am letting her stay up all night. I told them that she is in bed by about 9pm everynight and usually falls straight to sleep. I informed them I would do what I could but her next appointment is nov 30th which is also the earliest i could get. So i switched her meds for night times only and also changed med time from 7:30 to 6pm. Which means by 7:30 she is sleepy/ready for bed. I hate it this way because i think she is to old to go to bed so early. But this morning she seemed very much easier to talk to and less attitude. It could be the extra sleep or it could be the fact that we told her if Rudy was keeping her away he would have to sleep with dad and I on school nights. So we will see. Rudy tends to have bad dreams in which he yelps or whimpers (not to mention kick lol) He sleeps a lot. Not sure what is normal for puppies sleeping. But he sure makes up for it when he is awake as you can see from the video. I should not he only plays this rough with hubby. He licks nina to death and loves on me all the time. Maybe its a male thing. He asleep now but im sure when I start making brunch he will liven up again. Talk to you all soon. He is definately 100 times healthier (unfortunately for buddy) then Buddy was. Hubby thinks I am insane because ever poo he makes I check it out. Making sure its just poo with not creepy crawly things.

Well here's his havic for the morning. Prior to this he was runing up and down our hall scratching at Nina's door. I let him in and he went straight to the bed. I even took me with this morning to drop her off but i think he forgot. He stole her jammie shirt brought it into the computer room and went back to sleep with it.
Enjoy the video and again disregard my sometimes uncontrollable laughter.

  • WARNING!

THE VIDEOS BELOW ARE EXTREMELY AMATUER. I APOLOGIZE FOR MY BREATHING (DARTH VADER CALLED AND WANTS HIS VOICE BACK). I ALSO APOLOGIZE FOR THE WELL CRUDENESS. IF IT OFFENDED YOU THEN I AM SORRY. IF YOU HAVE EVER HEARD NINA SPEAK THEN YOU WILL KNOW SHE HAS COME SO FAR. SOMETIMES I THINK SHE IS EASIER TO UNDERSTAND THEN ME. HUBBY IS THE GUY IN THE BACKGROUND. THE VIDEOS CAN ALSO BE ENJOYED ON MUTE. THE ONLY REASON I POSTED THEM IS SO MY DOGGYLOVING FRIENDS CAN SEE HOW ACTIVE HE IS. THIS IS HIM CONSTANTLY. EXCEPT WHEN HE SLEEPS AND HE SLEEPS ALMOST THROUGH THE NIGHT. HE DID HAVE SOME SPIT UP (VERY SMALL AMOUNT OF VOMIT YESTERDAY MORNING AND THEN THIS MORNING. HE IS EATING AND DRINKING LIKE CRAZY. SO I AM SURE ITS NOTHING BUT BEING A MOMMA I WORRY.I SHOULD GO TAKE A PIC OF HIM NOW. HE GOES TO BED WITH HIS SISSY *NINA* AND I HAVE TO GO FETCH HIM TO GO OUTSIDE BEFORE I GO TO BED. USUALLY HE PLAYS AROUND WITH DAD & I THEN ON HIS OWN GOES BACK IN BED WITH HER. AM I OVER WORRYING?

Above are the three  two videos I have taken today he doesn't appear sick or lethargic to me. He is eating (doesn't seem to care for his food though only nibbles several times a day but drinks 2 plus bowls of water. Loves wet food though. It's just to spendy to have everyday. He is a little hellian at times but a total lovebug too. I think he likes his name because everytime I call hime Rudy Tootie he comes tail a wagging. In the above videos he is beating up the kid  and several of his toys. At least he isn't chewing on the sofa anymore lol. No toys were harmed in the making of these videos. Only a little pride from the kiddo lol. I am working on his aggresiveness, I am looking online for maybe a book or two. If anyone has a book they would wanna loan me I would read it then send it back. I will also reimburse for the shipping if you want. Anyway time to go take him for his last walk of the night (unless i get up to pee then i take him again) and hop in the shower. He is ten weeks old today. This week he gets his second set of shots.

  • Drum Roll Please.....

tat tat at tat tat (my only way of rolling any drums)

Introducing the one, the only, the incredibly cute and cuddly.....

Rudy Tootie (fresh and fruitie) & his kid

    rudy tootie fresh and fruitie

"When the don't hold still mom you make em gently like this."

He cries when she goes to bed and won't wake up to play. Today we went to the pharmacy. I forgot my keys in the house and sent Nina back in. Well as soon as he saw her with the keys i howled at her in protest as if to say no don't go! Hubby said he cried at the window until he "ruffed him up a bit" which he throughly enjoyed btw. He wins too.

very smart boy only 2 accidents. Neither were his fault.

So now I have a question... Why on earth is he eating shit.. not his as far as we can tell. All of the others. Nina is picking up poo tomorrow. But it worries me. He vomited a very tiny bit ealry today (perfectly fine in every other way btw - think nina is being to genrous w/ the treats.) Any advice here would be great. I got him puppy chow because it is what he is used to but plan to taper him off on it. In order to buy something more natural. No diareah, it was after eating grass. Hubby says I am worrying cuz of buddy. Rudy is absolutely 200 times more energetic then buddy ever was. His old owner (rudy's) even had fecal exams done too. Once again I got very lucky.

Ok now to kill some insomnia. CLEANING the kitchen!

    puppy attack4

As you can tell he is making himself quite at home. The nice guy we got him from said he was very close to his sister who found a new home last night and that he had been very whiney every since she left. He has been but as long as he is touchin one of us he is fine. Whch is fine by us! Anyway he's very adorable as you can see. I just need to get a name for him... any ideas ?  I am sure now that you know what he looks like you will have more ideas. Well anyway gonna go relax on the couch and watch TV. Its a 3 day weekend so therefore must commence on the relaxation!

    Speaking of relaxation....

  • Maybe, Maybe Not

I think I may of found a new baby for us. I spoke with the lady who is getting rid of her. Only thing is she is not a little baby she is more like a medium baby. She is part lab and part pit. Around kids all the time. Super friendly!! First thing I will do is get her fixed. If not done already. I of course will need to get bigger feeding dishes. She is 15 months old. Every baby puppy in town goes like hotcakes. This lil lady needs a home and well we are wanting a furbaby incredibly bad.

    What do you all think?

Is she to old to get attached to another family?

The owner says she is about 40lbs and doesn't think she will get any bigger. It is cutting it close to our 45-50lb weight limit. Of course she is considered a service/companion animal so they can't really put restrictions on us but I try to somewhat follow the rules if at all possible.

Is this a good idea? The owner will have to take her to a pound if she can't find a good home for her. We will get to meet her soon.

Come on you doggy lovers HELP i need advice I want to make a GOOD choice.

PS did I update you all regarding the Buddy situation, recently I mean?

  • Time for an update of sorts

Becuz I am overly tired and overly lazy you get bullets! Don't like bullets? Tough lol.

    • Welcome back to a few of my long lost Xanga pals who recently returned from lurking you know who you are!
    • Nina doin great in school! Pleases us greatly!
    • No puppy yet.. still looking. It amazes me that people put things in the paper and then leave them there for sometimes weeks after. What amazes me even more is that they NEVER answer their phones. I called on one that was put in that morning *i check online* and they never answered or called me back but without 3 hours their voice mail said the puppies were gone. This makes me Sad.
    • Three big things to celebrate in our home next month.
    • Nina will be 11 on the 24th. ELEVEN its insane really!
    • No Huge party this year. Thinking more along the lines of a sleepover with her and 2 friends. We will also be getting KFC that night. It's her choice and she has asked early lol.
    • Hubby and I have been married for 7 years on Halloween. It hasn't always been a walk in the park but it's a walk I would take over and over again if given the chance. We sometimes don't wanna take the same path but I think that's what keeps our marriage so strong. I love that crazy man even when he's a butt.
    • Then of course there's Halloween.
    • No changes or new information regarding Nina's surgery stuff. Next appointment in November. Looks like we will be spending about a week in Seattle that week since she has an appointment everyday for 3 days in a row. They want to see her again in Craniofacial Clinic so I am REALLY hoping to coordinate it with the other two appointments. I would rather not make 3 trips to seattle in a matter of a couple weeks.
    • They probably won't be thrilled with my news. But quite frankly they don't get a choice.
    • I am returning to college. My start date is January 4th. I will be going for my LPN degree. I will attend full time. I know you can't tell but I really am as excited as fuck! Will totally be doing my pre-reqs this year. I haven't decided yet if I am going to go during the summer. I think it depends on what the doctors have planned. They don't intend to do anything with her before 6 to 9 months so if they are not doing anything then I will be definately going through the summer. If they do make plans then obviously it would be wise for me to take the summer off.  If i go through the summer though I could graduate by 2011. I can't wait!!!!!!!!!!
    • Hubby also returning to college but online. He is also going to work part time. That way one of us are always available for Nina at school.
    • No help from nurses for Nina. Absolutely won't help us out. But she is doing fine.

Well there ya go. Update in a nutshell. Talk soonish. Peace....

On a side note: If you are the praying type please keep my dear xanga pal warweasel  in your thoughts. His furbabies haven't been well and his dear friend's fur babies are very ill. He would like some positive energy their way. Drop by and read more if you want.

  • I remember the day we met like it was yesterday. The fact that you didn't turn and run as fast as you could the other way still amazes me to this day.
